“In The Falling Rain I learn to grow again.”
Rains are usually considered to be a beautiful affair; and rightfully so, since every monsoon brings a barrage of colour and pop to sun dried lands. Within the cycles of seasons however, rains also bring rebirth. The bright, dangerous flashes of lightning along with the booming thunder can be seen as heralds of life-giving water; rejuvenating parched fields and bringing vibrance to the world. These seasons, much like our lives, are a balancing act of restoration. Much like this depiction of a cut down tree laying the foundation for a veritable ecosystem, we would not be able to grow as humans without being nourished by life experiences.
3D leaves and flowers are made by free motion quilting, then applied on the fabric.
Stones are filled with poly fill and hand appliquéd on the background. Hand embroidered Moss and grass around the stones is covering the edges and creating more natural look.
