The Rains - MaryEllen Sax - "On the Patio"

I tend to work from personal photos and the inspiration for this piece was a photo of my climbing thornless rose, after a rain.
 (My Photo)
For this piece I completely finished the background before I added the leaves.
The background consists of only a few fabrics but I used several techniques to get the look I wanted.
* acrylic paints
* markers
*Dye
*Free motion quilting around the bricks and wood grain quilting on the pillars.
The leaves are raw edge, and fused onto the background.
Along with free motion quilting  I used paints and makers to enhance the leaves.
I used a product call Dimond Glaze from Judikins to give the wet look (including the rain drops) on the leaves.

Thanks for stopping to look at my piece. I hope you enjoyed it.  MaryEllen
