Mosaic - Joyce Brown - "Northern Lights"

I started with a black background. I cut the northern lights shape and then cut it into irregular rectangles which I attached leaving a touch of black between. This reminded me of the old mosaic floors from Greece and Italy.

The bottom pictures has it completed to this stage; but I decided it needed something else. The flowing, stitched lines finished off and gave the dancing movement of the lights across the sky.
