The poet is a favorite of mine and he wrote a couple of books of
poetry called Grooks. His quick poems were sort of
grown up versions of Dr. Seuss. They are truisms!

It's great truism for sure. As we get older, things take time to finish (or not). Perhaps we enjoy the process or journey more.
ReplyDeleteThings take time! I love it and I love the sayings of Piet Hein. And thanks to Wikipedia I now know that this Danish philosopher is a direct descendant of the Piet Hein that I grew up with, the privateer/admiral whose statue stands in Zeeland, the province I grew up in, looking out over the sea and about whose greatness we all sing in a short children's song. We all learn how he sank the Spanish armada full of silver (stolen from South America). And that in turn really helped the Dutch in their 80 year war of independence from Spain.
