In The Garden - Shruti

I am not a very "Garden" kind of person. I have killed so many plants in my attempts at gardening, I'm sure the ones that are left alive in my garden - thanks to the efforts by my in-laws - would have run away and hidden upon seeing me if they had feet!

But I do like to look at a beautiful garden. And a few days back, I found a nest that had fallen off from one of the trees. I was surprised and happy to see that the birds had used all colourful threads that I had thrown out of my window to build their nest!

That is what inspired this quilt!

My favorite part? The nest I made using my thread scraps!!! I totally love it!!!

Do you like my "In my garden"?

  1. Quite the gardener, you are, Shruti! Yes, throw a thread here and there or hang them on bushes and the birds will come! Love your "In The Garden" interpretation.

  7. So not fair! Having a little 'tanty' here. That only took you 4 hours to create! - So not fair!!!
Love your background with its pops of colour, flowing rhythm and fantastic stitching.
Those bottom few leaves that you cut off level with the edge of the quilt would have looked great if you had let them exist beyond the edge of the quilt. Just saying! (so jealous you can do this in only 4 hours)
    Great job Shruti.
