Flights Of Fantasy - Denise Griffiths

                                 Flights Of Fantasy

                                          Denise Griffiths - Mr Peabody.

                   I was really stuck for an idea on this one, I think I was trying to be too               literal.

               Then came the most recent post from a girlfriend, she has the most    

                beautiful Peacock that struts around her garden. We get regular photos

                of him in all his glory. Apparently he is a real show off when he sees the

                camera. This photo was a cropped one showing his beautiful feathers

                up close.

                I thought that was an omen, it had to be him.

                I printed the photo on fabric, attached it to some black fabric. I  

                 extended his plumage with some glitzy thread.

    I love your idea!!! Esp the part of printing a photo onto fabric and then extending the design beyond the picture!!! I see myself using that technique in the future! Love that peacock!

    Love everything about this quilt - how you've extended the feathers is genius and the binding really adds to the quilt (which what I think they should do if you're going to add a binding). Just wonderful!!

    Great quilting! Love the idea of extending the tail feathers passed the border of the picture, and of course the thread painting is beautiful!
