Monochromatic 2 - Marianne Bos

"Monochromatic" was one of those topics that gave me plenty of inspiration and the hard part was choosing which idea to run with.  Then, what colour to do!

Finally I settled on something completely different than I first thought!  Purple is not my favourite colour but it is the favourite colour of several people in my household.

Here is my interpretation of Monochromatic......

Inspired by the work of Gloria Loughman, this piece is machine appliquéd and heavily machine quilted on a peltex background. Includes one of my own hand dyed fabrics!

See you all at the next challenge!

  1. Love it! As soon as I saw it I was reminded of a work I designed while in a Gloria Loughman workshop while looking at her works, it has her signature waves and twiddles down perfectly.

  3. Nice, very nice. Your purple fabric choices are a wonderful monochromatic mix and came together beautifully. Monochromatic often becomes bland but yours just pops.

  8. Beautiful quilt Marianne. I can see the Gloria Loughman influence. A well balanced design and a nice range of tones makes it a very lovely work of art.
