Abstract - Joyce Brown - “Midnight Garden”

July 31, 2022

Take a midnight walk in the garden and only the brightest flowers are visible in the moonlight. Using one's senses allows us to visualize more reality from the abstract darkness.
After ice dying a piece of fabric I had fun searching in the abstract design for pictures.  After trimming it down, I saved the extra fabric for my binding.
Shibori tied with marbles and elastics.

First I went in and free motion stitched around the flower shapes. Echo quilting gives it more definition.

The beads are attached with 3 different techniques.

  3. That ice dyed fabric is wonderful. Very interesting embellishments, I'm going to need to experiment.
