Tattoos - Lisa Hamilton - "Ybor City MerCat"

My art quilt entry is a tattoo selfie.

This is a rendition of TAT I have on my back.  It was inked at an Ybor City (Tampa, Fl) tattoo shop.   Many moons ago--I was on a girls weekend trip and one of my friends wanted to get a TAT.  While in the shop with her I asked if they could ink an Egyptian Cat.  The artist showed me a drawing which was NOT my idea of Egyptian Cat at all--- but then wait-- after a second or so I decided I like her drawing which was more of a MER(maid) CAT style!  It was very unique and perfect coloration.  So I got the tat-- with no regrets over the years-- even though it was a spontaneous decision.

I was not sure how I wanted to do the quilting-- not real pleased with the outcome / think it is distracting.   It probably would have been best without the quilting lines..  oh well.  Don't they say that sometimes done is better than perfect (especially when already late !)

  1. you may be right about the quilting lines, but you are definitely right about it being great when it is "done". I do like the cat and the colors and if they have not faded on your back then it must be quite a striking "kitty" peeking out of some tops at times.
