I don't have any tattoos at the moment.
But if I were seriously considering one I'd either go with a quote or with a piece of my own artwork.
Originally I had a contemporary quote in mind for this challenge but unfortunately was unable to contact the author for permission. Then I thought perhaps something from Alice in Wonderland would do and played around with some designs.
Finally I settled on this tree, based on a sketch that I did for another project.
It's done with a piece of indigo batik (a nod to the traditional colour for tattoos) fused and stitched onto an old piece of cloth which has many age spots just like older skin LOL).
The slowest part was cutting out and placing the tree.....for future reference this cannot be rushed if you want to avoid tangles!
Very nice design -- How cool to have a tat with your own art work!
ReplyDeleteI like the "aged" background, indeed my skin is aging with spots. The indigo choice is great and the tree reminds me of a shawl my daughter made for me of felt. She cut a branch full of leaves and those leaves tangled during the cutting process and when I wear it.
ReplyDeleteLooks simple but a very complicated design with all the curly bits. Great interpretation of the design.
ReplyDeleteI love trees, a very nice tree indeed.
