Next Challenge: "Vision Board", Reveal Date July 31st, 2016

Theme: Vision Board.

This is how I imagine something I want to bring into my life.

It could be 'stuff', or an experience, a trip, a healing, feelings, people, etc. or all the above.

I've done this on tag board but never as an art quilt.

When I was taking metaphysical classes, particularly Science of Mind, we would often create vision boards. Using tag board, pictures, words and phrases from magazines, pictures we drew, embellishments, etc. we would create an 'idea' or vision board that would help us to be open to new ways of seeing with both inner and outer eyes, things we wanted to bring into our lives. This could be things, people, experiences, etc.
The premise was that the clearer we could get to the feeling or concept of what we wanted we would then begin to draw it to us, and enable us to recognize elements as they showed up in our lives.
For instance, I want to spend some time in Paris. I do not have the funds to do this at this time. By creating a vision board (art quilt) with elements that mean something to me, I begin to go from just thinking about how I can't get there, to 'I'm going to Paris." I might create the Eiffel Tower, or sitting in a plane in flight having a glass of wine, having coffee and croissants outside in a little bistro in Paris, visiting a fabric shop, Versailles, etc. I would probably add some money to the picture since right now there is no funding. When I'm in Paris how would I feel?
It's just a fun way to play with an idea. A vision board consists of pictures of our highest conception of an idea, (thing, experience, feeling) that we want to bring into our lives that is not here in the present moment.
It could also be something like the dream stash!
It's about playing with fabric, thread, and anything else we can figure out how to attach to a 12 x 16 fabric foundation!
You might go to the dictionary and find words and concepts that you want to work with. Here are some words I found: viewpoint, notice, fly on the wall, outlook, observant, penetrating look. So, what is it that you want that you want to take a closer and more penetrating look at?
