I wanted to depict the vastness of the desert, the location for the novel, and then have a single red tent. I tried to show the different wind patterns in the sand with the quilting and added some gold thread on the red tent to show the lushness of the tent where women can be themselves and supported by one another.
This challenge was really difficult for me because there were so many other books that I wanted to do...who knows, maybe I'll just do a whole series of book inspired quilts!

ReplyDeleteThe use of solids enhances the quilting giving a lovely textural feel to your quilt. Although small, the red tent retains its dominant place in the story. Well done.
