Out Of This World - Christine Lee

When I set the challenge (spur of the moment decision) I had no idea of what to do, but i had to start somewhere.  I don't know what is out there, I have never been except in my imagination so I started with a piece of dyed homespun gone wrong and the chance to experiment and add glitz.  Layer after layer until I was happy with this little quilt.

  1. The shading and quilting give that big red ball an interesting 3D effect Chris. Lots of movement in the piece as well, sure wouldn't want to get caught in the way of it. Can't tell from the photo, are the silver circles a sheer fabric or stitching?

  3. I love a work that I can stare at for hours and still see something new! (and I also love that you used fabric to begin with that you thought had gone wrong. It was just waiting for a project like this one! Really interesting and wonderful work!

  4. Dyed homespun gone wrong? What is that and how can that happen and next time it does happen, then send it my way. Enjoyed your challenge and love your interpretation of the place where we know a lot, yet so very little. We can only imagine.

  8. We can only hope that there is glitz out there in space Chris. Love your comet ( what I think it looks like) it has a lot of speed type of movement. Wouldn't a snowflake look good in this type of style!!!!! Just saying.
