Monochromatic 2 - Jay Dodds

The theme this round is titled "Monocromatic"..using only one (mono) color (chroma) to create the quilt.  I love this theme; I love working in Monochromatic! Our designated size for the quilts is 11.5" by 16.5" so that is a bit restrictive.  All of my quilts in the past for AQATW have been vertical in design but somehow this one turned out to be horizontal. And, after I completed it, I thought it would also satisfy the theme of a few times ago which I missed...a song title!
Monochromatic / "'Eye' land in the Stream"!
And the song title,  "Island(s) in the Stream" is an old country/western song by Dolly Parton and Kenny Rogers.  Many times while I am creating, something will tap a song into my mind.  My little square on my quilt reminded me of an eye; the wavy lines, ripples in water...also inspired by my chosen color, blue.  Putting it all together while the song is running non stop through my thoughts...my title...with a little adjustment of spelling, etc.! So I have linked the song for you to a Youtube rendition...enjoy!

  9. Very creative combination of two challenges in this quilt. I am always drawn to a blue quilt and love any song penned by the brothers Gibb. Great job Jay.
