In The Garden
This challenge has been great fun!
I have collected lots of bits of plastic, bottle tops, lids, bread ties, straws, teaspoons, food packaging trays, cotton reels, packing tape etc.
These bits of 'rubbish' were melted with a hot iron, to create 'beautiful' flowers.
These 'beautiful' flowers are now growing in my little garden.
I used bubble wrap for wadding (not that you can see it!)
Blue packing strap for the binding.
The Sun is a lid of a "Copperpot" (brand name) dip container.
The Grass is a raw chicken tray from the supermarket, cut, fringed and lightly melted.

Wow what a great idea, I LOVE it! This is realy recycling.
ReplyDeleteAmazing, Fleur! I would never have thought to go this far and didn't even know you could do most of this! It's REALLY an example of recycling.
ReplyDeleteSusan, I had no idea either. Once I got that hot iron in my hand and started melting things, I just kept experimenting. Not everything melted as I thought it would, different plastics respond differently. It was a lot of fun and now I'm looking at plastic packaging with a whole new eye.
DeleteWonderful Fleur. An interesting use of all sorts of discards.
ReplyDeletewow you have put us all to shame with your recycling and repurposing!! I loved the bread clips first but had to smile when I saw the zips - the chicken tray was the icing on the cake. Really well done!!
