New Member Introduction - Marie McEachern

My art has evolved over time, always from a love of fiber, initially with traditional quilting and now focusing on fibre art, although I do still make a few quilts. 

I find inspiration from her travel, near and far, and of the numerous photographs that I take mostly of nature and architecture.

I am mostly self -taught. I have also taken several courses in visual design and benefited from numerous workshops with world renowned teachers.

I use a variety of techniques in her art; machine piecing, fusible applique and free motion quilting are my favorites. I also love dyeing my own fabric and have recently started using thicken dye and paint for additional surface design.

I was born in Canada and currently reside in Calgary, Alberta with my husband.
