Song Bird - Kaylene Innes
My Song Bird quilt is an Australian Kookaburra made with tea-bags.
I added colour to the background by rubbing grass (green) and flowers (pink/red) onto the fabric.
Wow, Kaylene, you got such an interesting effect using the teabags. I would love to know more about how you put them together; glued onto the background and cut ? Amazing !

ReplyDeleteI love that this group tries new techniques - but even more - I like that we share so others can give them a try, also. Yes, please let us know more!
ReplyDeleteWow! Tea bags! I would have never thought to use those items as materials. Visually exciting to have an amazing 3D effect on your feathers
ReplyDeleteTea-bags! Really!
ReplyDeleteYour ideas, imagination and willingness to 'give it a go' inspires me.
This is so different and so lovely too.
How fascinating to use tea bags for textural impact and going outside and using items from nature to add color to your fabric. Very striking!
ReplyDeleteLove the feather detail.
ReplyDeleteLove the new technique you tried and the texture created by the tea bags. I assume they are used teabags?
