As a school social worker, I try to promote peace with children, staff and parents.
If I were brave enough to get a tattoo, I would choose the peace sign. I am truly a child of the 50’s!
At almost 70 years old, I continually reflect on days gone by. The days of songs that promoted Peace, like “Give Peace a Chance” or Edwin Starr, “War! What is it good for! ABSOLUTELY NOTHING!” I reflect back on the time of wanting to be a Flower Child and walk around with flowers in my hair and giving flowers to strangers passing by.
I chose Teach Peace because it is so me!!
The brown fabric was used because it is very close to my skin color. I thought I was finished last week but after looking at it for a week, I kept feeling something was missing so I added some flowers with a little glitter on them, sewed a red seed bead in the middle and that still wasn’t enough. I put the embroidery feature on my Bernina to use. Then I added peace and teach peace in red thread. It was fun but also thought provoking.
I love your approach of the flower child peace seeker!! I love the letters where you morphed the words peace and teach together-very powerful. Anything with flowers I just love!! Great job!
ReplyDeleteWhat a lovely tattoo this would be! So easy to imagine it on the arm of a young woman. And I love the thought behind your design. We all need to give peace a chance.
ReplyDeleteThank you!
