" The Eyes (I's) Have it" Nancylynne Brazwell "The Eye of the Storm"
In 2004 Hurricane Ivan hit my home town of Pensacola, Florida. This storm had 30 foot tidal waves that wiped out homes and beaches. This art quilt is a rendition of the radar of this storm. Though this is not one of the biggest recorded hurricanes, it still left it's toll. June starts hurricane season again so I thought this was appropriate for the timing. I pray that no ones goes though the devastation one of these can cause.
Fabulous use of fabric - you have captured a real sense of movement. As you say let us hope no-one has to experience the full force of one this year.

DeleteVery striking ! I've experienced several hurricanes in the past few years and it is very scary as you watch the weather service broadcast to see that colourful concentrated image heading your way.
ReplyDeleteNancy you are right the sitting and waiting when you see one of these big monsters coming at you is scary. Thank you

DeleteIt is so interesting how personal all our quilts are. When you thought of eye - I guess you thought of the eye of a hurricane, given your personal experiences. Outstanding use of color and motion.
