Serena Greene - Vision Board
"FAMILY"
My contribution this time came together quite quickly and easily. I took a look at a vision board I made for myself probably 10 years ago and quite a few things have come along nicely, However, there is one thing that has eluded us which is starting a family. I wondered if this might be a little too personal a topic for this particular forum, but then thought this is art and art is meant to be personal so I went for it.
I created a heart of my husband and I with a baby in the middle. It is raw edge applique using vliesofix. I used inktense pencils to create definition and tone in the faces. I finished by free motion quilting cherry blossoms and love hearts all over. What represents fertility more than cherry blossoms, right? Plus I love them and would have them all over my house if I could get away with it. I also managed to find some fabric in my stash for the backing and binding which is cherry blossom buds and just the right coral pink.
I told you I loved them, right?

Thank you for sharing something so personal with us Serena. It is a beautiful, touching quilt. Such love waiting to be given.
