I was stumped by this one for some time. All I could think of was work by Jeff Koons, ( hope I've spelt that right!) Then a friend sent me a book about the day of the dead, I would love to visit Mexico for this celebration, so I knew where I was going. I drew and stitched and painted. Is it done? I wanted to add texture as well, but at this point I'm not sure I should. So here is my day of the dead.

Love the sugar skulls and the skeletons are too cute. I like the addition of the artificial flowers. Breaking the edges isa nice touch.
ReplyDeleteLove the Day of The Dead theme Judith, cute little heads and little skeletons. The plastic flowers really push it into the Kitsch realm.
ReplyDeleteI also love sugar skulls and Day of the Dead! Plastic flowers are definitely kitschy!! The irregular outside edge is a nice choice also.
ReplyDeleteFantastic, very fun and colourful. Love the little skeletons.
ReplyDeleteI think you've captured the spirit of the day (no pun intended) with your happy skeletons. Great stuff!
ReplyDeleteVery clever!
ReplyDeleteVery kitschy and creative.
