Texture - Monique Kleinhans

I have been working with wool roving lately and enjoying 'painting' images with it using felting needles.  This little fox was created on a foam mat with loose fibers needle felted together.  I then placed him on a background stitched and treated with the product texture magic to add a little extra interest.  I did a bit more thread work on the fox and quilted the background down a bit more.  He looks a little impatient though, I think I better let him continue looking for his dinner.

  1. Well, isn't he just the sweetest, with eyes filled with such curiosity. I think he just spotted his dinner and in his youth is still trying to figure out how to deal with it!

  7. Cant say foxes are my favourite creatures, they're always after my chickens here but you've done a wonderful job with your woodland creature.

  9. Fantastic Mr Fox - scrumptious texture.
Texture Magic ("Shrinky" fabric)is such fun to use - but I banned myself from using it for this texture challenge (I used it 3 times for my art quilts in the last year)
    Your fox quilt is lovely.

  10. Wow! The combination of felting and stitching makes for a very realistic furry fox. I like the use of texture magic for the background.

  11. Felting and wool rovings just sing out for touching, everyone must want to stroke your fox. So realistic, love him.
