Uniform - Marty Mason

Art Quilts Around The World - "Uniform" by Marty Mason

I'm calling this one "The Path of Least Resistance."  Because:  I'm doing a program for our quilt guild this afternoon on wrapped rope bowls and have been busily getting enough samples made to show the group different variations of how to make each bowl have a different personality.

Since I didn't have "Uniform" ideas in my head and was running out of time,  but did have rope in my hands (still running out of time),  I simply and as uniformly as possible,  spiraled rope unto scraps of yellow fabric and stitched the rope down.....making just enough to cover my 11 1/2" x 16" art quilt template size.  Finished with a little free motion quilting.  Binding will be done later.

Now, I'm off to enthrall the group with my rope bowl making !

Later arrived..........binding is complete ~

  6. A great example of using what you have or necessity being the mother of invention. Clever indeed!
