Uniform - Linda Bardes

Thank you for adding me to your splendid 20!
I had only a few days to create this month's 'Uniform' quilt and initially said I probably wouldn't be able to accomplish the task.
But I started thinking about it and decided that as long as I had to go to the fabric store I would purchase a piece of 'uniform' fabric and go from there.
Initially I wanted some of the light desert fabric but all I could find is what is in the pictures.
It's actually camouflage fabric but, still, that's a sort of hunters uniform.

When I got home I immediately went to my sewing machine and started making little pleats across the fabric, all the same -- all uniform.
Then I began to play a bit with turning some of the pleats in the opposite direction,
keeping all these also the same.
I used the pins to put them in place while I decided what to do next.
I thought about the little rings I had in my bead stash, then changed the pins to all with the same color, cut a piece of yellow silk ribbon and used that as an accent.
Keeping with 'uniformity' I added a yellow binding.

Everything I did here has no randomness to it.
It's all uniform -- the same -- consistent-unvaried (in each element) - the same - equal............

Since I have a tendency to labor over things I do this was so much fun because there wasn't much thinking involved.
I got an idea and I went with it.
I was constant in my process from beginning to end.
Some elements weren't as neat as I usually do things but I didn't have time to be neat!
