1. The image of the woman is the same.
2. The background and sashing is the same fabric and the same width.
3. The stripe of the halter dress is the same and cut along the same position on the striped fabric
4. The eye, brow and lip color is all the same.
5. The glitter nail polish on all the eyelids is the same color.
6. The quilting is the same in all four images, using the same variegated thread, and the sashing.
This is what is NOT uniform:
1. The color of the hair
2. The nail polish on each of the woman's hair.
3. The skin tones.
| This is a close up of the favorite of the four images. I decided the combination of the values of skin tone, eye brows and lips looked the best together. |
What a colourful quilt. Really well thought out and executed. Love the use of nail polish. Well done
ReplyDeleteInteresting to see how the color values change portrait - all very beautiful. Great interpretation of "uniform."
ReplyDeleteLove your Andy Warhol inspired look!! Great idea!
ReplyDeleteI love how slight differences have made absolute enhanced differences in the final result!!! I can see a lot of thought has gone into making this one! Loved it!
ReplyDeleteAmazing how they all look so different but the same. I do enjoy your quilts with people as your feature. A lot of thought went into this one
ReplyDeleteThis is such a wonderful, clever piece!!! And as usual, very well done!
ReplyDeleteI really like this! It's a great, imaginative illustration of how one size doesn't fit all.
ReplyDeleteYour explanation also shows the difficulty of portrait quilts, with the different results of the same pieces.
Terrific explanation! Such small changes really make a difference.
ReplyDeleteI wondered how you would meet this challenge Laurie and love what you have done. The explanation of your process is appreciated. Love it!
