Monochromatic 2 - Susan Turney
Red Flower
Once again I used fabrics from my stash. A simple little quilt but it was fun to put together using just reds.
The "Blue bird" is just your signature Susan. I also think of "red" as your signature too! Very interesting piece, need to study carefully to see how you made this work, background / subject contrast. How many fabrics have you used?
Fleur, I just used 3 fabrics and I think I've used them before in challenges. I haven't been in a quilt shop in ages because I have a huge stash. I know if I went over to my favorite shop here in Las Vegas I would walk out with lots so I'm waiting until I have a project in mind!
I would be disappointed if there was no little birdie, he adds so much interest to your quilts Susan, even though he is a tiny fellow. Love your quilt.
And little blue bird is singing..."I'm so pretty, oh so pretty, so pretty and giddy and gay."
ReplyDeleteHa!
ReplyDeleteCute, love the blue bird, that's one thing about monochromatic for me - I always want to put in just a pop of colour.
ReplyDeleteThe little blue bird does add interest-whimsical and fun! :)
ReplyDeleteLove how the different values are used so well...elements don't fad in the background!! Nicely done!!
ReplyDeleteSince the bird is on all the others, I had to add him. I forgot him on one piece but went back and put him in!

DeleteBeautiful!!!! The bird looks dramatic on it! I went and checked back on all of your quilts for the bird!!!

ReplyDeleteGlad you added your little bird, it would feel very strange without him.
