This was an easy theme for me as I love the phrase and my entire life has been unconventional. The background of my piece suggests the 'straight and narrow' - the curved line the more 'adventuresome' choice. I used a question mark shape to further build in the idea that the road less traveled can often symbolize asking why instead of just following directions. You can see I really got into the philosophical side of things.
I had set a goal for myself in entering this group to use these challenges to push myself a bit and use techniques I am not too comfortable or proficient in. After I had appliqued the question mark shape and machine quilted everything, I felt the piece still needed more. Having just taken a class with some paints, I decided to add some to emphasize the less traveled choice.
