Hence the First Moon Landing by Neil Armstrong(1932-2012) Buzz Aldrin and Micheal Collins in 1969.
The background sky was an MRI hospital gown in dark blue, dry brushed and distressed.
Tyvek was used for the moons surface and was painted, stitched, distressed painted again and then quilted to give the look of a rough surface. Again the astronaut was painted on a lightweight interfacing with a crystal organza face mask and quilted.
When I planned this piece it all seemed quite straight forward but as always materials and techniques changed several times to suit what I had in my stash.
