Hello everyone,
My name is Ineke Rens . I'm from the other side of the planet, from Holland but living in Belgium for about 12 years. If our house ever will be sold, we go back to Holland. I am sixty something ( a lot of something, don't tell anyone.)
First of all, my English is very bad and I'm sorry for that. I'll do my best and I hope you understand what I am going to tell.
I made my first quilt in 1994 and I was immediately addicted.

Rusted fabrics. I love this one.

O,o, blogger doesn't want me to do this. Everything goes wrong. This is for now. I'll try again next time. You see, I'm not a big talker, not good on the pc a.s.o. But I am who I am and I looooove quilting.
Love your quilts, the Threadpainting of the hawk's head especially. Pleased to meet you and look forward to reading more about you.
ReplyDeleteHi Ineke, I love the work you have shown us, especially the poppies. Welcome to the group.
ReplyDeleteDear Ineke, I am so so so glad I found you and invited you. Your art quilts and the traditional quilt are all magnificent. I too love that rich red of the poppies. The rust fabric piece is terrific too! Ground Zero is of course very moving, emotional. The figure running in the foreground perfect!
ReplyDeleteAs far as I am concerned you are YOUNG! Young enough to be my little sister! So there! I am already in the next decade up from yours!!!!
We are never to old to do new things.
Your English is fine. No problem.
So again welcome, and I definitely look forward to your challenge quilts!
Welcome, soul (birthdate) mate!! I love your work!! Just lovely...and I think you are going to be a wonderful new member to this group...I am new to the Art Quilters also...joined in December and did do the first challenge..and I love it/them!! I already feel like I am "one of the crowd"!
ReplyDeleteAnd if this blog is a sample of your English...not to worry!!! I find everything you say to be very understandable! I wish I was fluent in another language!
Looking forward to seeing more of your art!
Hi Ineke,
ReplyDeleteYour work is wonderful and PLEASE don't worry about your English. It's perfect and you're talking to many (myself included) who speak one language while you speak several!
Hoi Ineke
How lovely to have another dutch person in the group. I very much like your quilts especially the rusted fabric one. Did you rust this yourself? I have just begun rusting fabric but don't know what to do with it yet.
Thank you all for the very friendly and warm welcome. It seems if Iknow you already a little bit. I look forward getting started.
ReplyDeleteAnd Yes Marianne, I rusted the fabric by myself with ordinary nails and screws. Happy quilting. Does anyone already have an idea?
Hi Ineke, Welcome to the group. I made my first quilt in 1995. Now I teach beginners patchwork & quilting and run a patchwork shop, Little Desert Quilts. Thankyou for showing us your work, I look forward to seeing what you produce for the challenge.
ReplyDeleteWelcome, welcome!
ReplyDeleteTotaly Ineke. I like your story.
