At age 69 I do a lot of thinking about LIFE.
The challenge of a "Doors" Quilt brought to mind...
I used the photo of a gate in the neighborhood where I currently work, which I transferred using TAP to white muslin fabric...
I wanted my door to open and layered it on batting seen here with the free motion sewing from the front showing on the back of the gate...
And so the door opens up to a collage...

The bottom two photos on the very bottom in black and white include
my five year old ballet dancing class and my forth grade class of which I could still name
almost every child in that picture!
and I appreciate the opportunity to share it with you here.

What a great personal journey, and more opening doors!
Just got to finish my piece tonight when I get home from owrk, running late as usual....
A fabulous way to give honor to those years and grouping by decade seems to work well for you. Beautiful work.
This is a lovely piece of work. The photos must have invoked many memories for you.A treasure to pass on. thanks for sharing. A lady called Lorraine(see Creative Daily on my Bloglist), is doing a fabric book in memory of her father. Lovely too.
WONDERFUL!
I am so enjoying peeking thru your doors.
Thanks for sharing your wonderful 69 years with us Lynn. Not like you to be so minimalist with colour but I like it very much. You are a wonderful support and inspirational member of our challenge team. Thank you.
A wonderful mini auto biography Lynn. I love how you used a hinge for the front but it is on opening your door that your quilt becomes very special indeed. Printing out a potted version of each decade was a fabulous idea, the photos are great. Your quilting is great too. A fabulous story quilt, well done.
This is wonderful! I love the way your door opens to all the photos and your use of ExtraOrganza for the text. Beautifully done!!
Thank you for sharing your life with us a truly wonderful collage through a door.
Thank you for sharing your personal journey with us. Love the idea how you depicted each decade.
